Providing homeless men, women and children with basic necessities for Thanksgiving.
Toiletries 4 the Holidays was started Victor Terry, founder of Fly By Nature Foundation back in 2016. Mr. Terry says "The motivation behind it was I felt that most of us have the privilege to enjoy a good Thanksgiving meal, spend precious moments with our families but we can't forget about the homeless out in the streets." The Event would kick-off with a networking event at Infuse Restaurant on a Thursday. People would bring toiletries and we would bag them up there while socializing. We had raffle prizes to show our solitary & appreciation for the donors. Thanksgiving morning, we would take all the toiletries we bagged up down to Franklin Park, which is located at 13th & K st NW, Washington DC were a lot of homeless stay. After passing the toiletries, we would take the leftovers and drop them off at the Shelter on D st NW. " Now it was time to go home and have Thanksgiving dinner with the family ", terry says.
Fly By Nature Foundation was birthed with the inspiration of the founder's grandfather Richard Bradford. He was a staple of the community and his passion for youth was impeccable. Mr. Bradford founded the Busy Bee Community Association back in 1982. His grandson, Victor Terry, was present living in the household, apart of it as a participant and benefited from this program designed for at-risk youth.
