Reframing The Narrative!
" WHEN YOU CHANGE THE MEANING AND NARRATIVE OF YOUR PAST, YOU SIMULTANEOUSLY CHANGE THE NARRATIVE OF YOUR PRESENT."
Using evidenced based Social Emotional Learning Framework was our approach, it has been proven highly effective. Using research data from the Center's of Disease Control (CDC) Youth Risk Behavior Survey, were able to address some of the major pain points for youth in the District of Columbia. Using CASEL 5 CORE COMPETENCIES: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Studies show the more social emotional skills, the better they are equipped when scenarios requiring resilience happen, maintain positive attitudes about themselves and other people, the capacity to create, sustain, and grow healthy connections with others. We have 8 core learning workshops, family night program kickoff, award ceremony and group photo.

Program Evaluation and Monitoring
Fly By Nature Foundation understands the importance of effective program, evaluation and monitoring. We have created our Logic Model that depicts the shared relationships among the resources, activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact for our Youth Wellness and The Butterfly Effect programs. Our Logic Model is a clear and continuous method for establishing logical flow of a program and serve as a tool for identifying progression towards program goals.
What Is the CASEL Framework?
Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is a framework we implement that creates a baseline for applying evidence-based strategies for our Youth Wellness Curriculum. CASEL helps helps cultivate skills and environments that advance students’ learning and development.
Benefits of using the CASEL Framework:
Foster knowledge, skills, and attitudes across five areas of social and emotional competence;
Establish equitable learning environments and coordinate practices across four key settings that support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
