TumainiCon, is a annual SEL conference for students and staff is our biggest event of the year and we are running it back!!  Last year, we hosted 250 + students, educators, and school leaders.

This year's conference will be hosted IN-PERSON on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Sky Zone Waldorf from 9:00am-2:00pm, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month!! Our theme for 2023 is "It's Okay Not to be Okay". We want to create a safe space for our students and staff to share their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in an authentic and holistic way, as they navigate the MANY challenges and trauma happening in our community.

Give 8/28

Give 8/28 began in 2018 with a vision from YBGB Institute founder, Ebonie Johnson Cooper, to have a giving day dedicated to grassroots, Black nonprofits. n year two, Give 8/28 partnered with the crowdfunding platform, Mightycause to provide an invaluable infrastructure to the day. Give 8/28 builds on the momentum created by Black Philanthropy Month with one concentrated day of giving for Black nonprofits, which leverages online fundraising tools in order to tap into the enthusiasm of the 21st Century philanthropist.

"You Have a Voice" Campaign

Our "You Have A Voice" Campaign was created for youth that has experienced bullying. Oftentimes, bullying falls on deaf ears. Sometimes it's simply because the adults are not trauma-informed, do not understand its importance, are not comfortable with handling these situations, or don't believe them. Our goal is to amplify their voices, give encouragement to ask for help, opportunity to educate people on the effects bullying has on youth, and give testimonies of those who have experienced bullying but were able to overcome it. We call on our celebrities, influencers, pro athletes, and corporations to join us during our campaign throughout bullying prevention month. More details will be coming a few months prior to our campaign kickoff. We're planning to kick off the "You Have A Voice" Campaign in September 2022.
